Welcome!
Soon we will add detailed documentation dedicated to the OnLex platform. While this section is still under development, we invite you to explore some resources already powered by OnLex:
Guide to Pamir Languages — pamiri.online
This site is used for publishing and editing multiple dictionaries for one or several languages using a uniform system. Pamiri.online runs on the third (latest) version of the platform.
Persian Language Dictionary — iranic.space
This dictionary uses an older version of the platform, which features a simpler design and fewer functions.
Other resources are currently in closed testing.
Functionality in a nutshell
The search capabilities include flexible configuration options such as case and/or diacritic insensitivity, full-word or partial-word search, and filtering of results by various parameters (presence of labels, language or source affiliation, belonging to specific vocabulary zones).
The entry page includes a navigation and hyperlink system (a “table of contents” is automatically generated for each entry), as well as a mechanism for collecting user feedback.
In the editor’s interface, options are available for detailed editing of each entry zone, namely: the Basics section, Dependent units (idioms, complex verbs, etc.), Subsenses, Examples, Comments, Links, and Media.
Administrators have access to flexible configuration of dictionary system aspects, such as editor access levels for different dictionaries on the site, the list of languages, sources, and labels, as well as control over features available to (un)registered users.
As additional modules, a custom page management system has been developed (for static pages, news, event pages, and personal pages of project participants) with detailed access level settings (e.g., restricting certain content types to project participants only). Project participants can edit their personal pages themselves, which are automatically generated based on a preconfigured template (example: the platform developer's page). Moreover, there is flexible control over publication activity.
Getting started
If you would like to request a demo version where you can explore the platform and test its features yourself, please contact Yury Makarov at ym@pamiri.online. Kindly include a brief description of your project and its main objectives.
The distribution model and usage terms for the OnLex platform have not yet been finalized, but we are open to discussing potential collaboration on an individual basis.
